NEWMEXICO.GOV RE-LAUNCHES WITH NEW LOOK AND
FEATURES
First Update of NewMexico.gov Since 2005

SANTA FE - Today the Governor’s office and the New Mexico Department of
Information Technology unveiled the rebuilt version of New Mexico’s online portal –
NewMexico.gov.

The new version of the portal has been updated with a new modern look and new features that allow citizens, visitors, and businesses better access to information such as online services, public resources, upcoming public meetings, news and emergency alerts. The portal has also undergone a major renovation that allows the public to view live webcasts and archived videos of the legislative session, legislative committee meetings, board and commission meetings, and other public meetings in New Mexico.

“NewMexico.gov is an important tool for government transparency and accessibility that will provide access to valuable resources and allow the public to see how their government is working,” said Governor Martinez. “The new version of NewMexico.gov will serve as a one-stop portal where people and businesses can access information they need for online services, public resources, news and emergency response information.”

The previous version of NewMexico.gov was launched in 2005 and had not received a major update since, with few changes to content and design. The new portal is a modern and user-friendly version that aims to increase the use of online services and direct people and businesses more easily to sites like the Sunshine Portal and the Office of Business Advocacy. The website makes every effort to ensure pages are accessible to individuals with disabilities according to Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act. The New Mexico Press Association has also made available all public notices regarding hearings, financial reports, adoption of ordinances, and other government activities published anywhere in the state of New Mexico, linked from the portal’s home page.

The previous version of the website received an average of 24,000 visits daily. The rebuild of the website began in May by contract with Real Time Solutions, a New Mexico company based in Albuquerque.
