The New Mexico Press Association Foundation’s High School Journalism Workshop opened on June 10 on the University of New Mexico campus.

Eleven New Mexico High School students from throughout the state arrived to take on a full agenda that included presentations on creating a newspaper budget, editorial writing, conducting an interview, journalism ethics, shooting a photo, writing a newspaper article, page design and much more.

At the end, the students will have created The Future Press, an eight-page newspaper. NMPA member newspapers will get a copy of the student newspaper in the coming weeks. The content will also be available online at thefuturepressonline.wordpress.com.
