The Killeen Daily Herald is seeking a journalist who is a fast and thorough page designer with copy editing capabilities to join our design/copy desk.The ideal candidate will be a team player, can multitask, learns quickly, works well under pressure and can work independently. He or she should have InDesign and Photoshop experience as well.The applicant for this full-time job must have strong editing skills, a solid knowledge of the AP Stylebook and the ability to write reader-grabbing headlines, as well as design pages. The designer copy edits stories and works with editors directly to produce high-quality community journalism. Killeen Daily Herald staff members are required to live in or move to the Daily Herald coverage area, which includes Killeen, Copperas Cove and Harker Heights. Killeen is in Central Texas, about 60 miles north of Austin, which is not in our coverage area.

The Killeen Daily Herald in Central Texas is seeking an investigative reporter to cover Killeen city leadership and issues important to residents.

We are looking for an experienced print and digital reporter with an investigative approach to news who can track city finances and communicate frequently with council members. Reporters are expected to file document requests to acquire information not otherwise available and to track the requests.

Experience with reader engagement and social media is desirable.
